The D.R.E.A.M.LAND Parliamentary Simulation, held from June 6th to June 12th, 2024, in the scenic city of Antalya, began with great enthusiasm. This event was organized by LIDOSK in partnership with CoSE from Belgium, ASDA from Finland, AMSED from France, MVNGO from Italy, INNOVA LAB from North Macedonia, APGA from Slovenia, and HEY from Sweden. Supported by the European Commission, it gathered eager young participants keen to learn and create positive change.

Ice-breaker games brought us closer together, followed by an insightful program overview from our trainer, Mr. Arda Yılmaz Pişirici.

Mr. Ege Erkoçak shared valuable insights on “Relations between Türkiye and EU Affairs.”

Honored to hear from Ms. Evrim İşeri, CHP Konyaaltı Municipality Council Member, on youth work, active citizenship, and youth representation in the EU and Türkiye.

Engaging Q&A sessions with our eager participants were a highlight!

DAY 3

We kicked off with an informative session led by the trainer Mr. Arda Yılmaz Pişirici and young volunteer Mr. Hasan Akın.

Participants were thoroughly briefed on the simulation and the study guide on “Youth Participation and Green Transition: Strategies for a Carbon Neutral Europe by 2050.”

DAY 4

The Parliamentary Simulation held at the Konyaaltı Municipality allowed participants to step into the roles of decision-makers, policy-makers, and policy implementers. The simulations were structured to mimic real parliamentary proceedings, complete with debates, discussions, and voting on proposed bills.

Participants engaged passionately in the simulations, addressing pressing issues and proposing innovative solutions. The sessions were dynamic, with lively debates and thoughtful discussions that showcased the participants’ dedication and understanding of the topics at hand. The experience was designed to provide a realistic and immersive understanding of parliamentary processes, helping participants appreciate the complexities and responsibilities of legislative work.

DAY 5

On the final day of the event, the focus shifted to developing policy papers and evaluating the simulation. Participants moved from simulation activities to policy development, working collaboratively to draft policy papers based on the discussions and decisions made during the parliamentary simulations. This process required critical thinking, research, and writing skills as they aimed to create comprehensive and actionable policy recommendations.

The sessions were led by LIDOSK’s trainer, Mr. Arda Yılmaz Pişirici, who provided feedback and support to ensure the policy papers were well-crafted and aligned with the objectives of the D.R.E.A.M.LAND project. Emphasizing practical application, participants learned how to translate their ideas and discussions into formal policy documents capable of influencing real-world decisions.
