At the Active citizenship workshop, the group in which I was also, discussed the problem of disdain for Slovenian culture, tradition and customs. We found that people care less and less about everything that is Slovenian and prefer what is foreign. We found that this is especially increasing among young people. That’s why my team and I decided to create an Instagram profile called Conscious Citizens of Slovenia (Zavedni državljani Slovenije), because the easiest way to reach young people is through social networks. On Instagram, we would post daily fun facts about Slovenia that many people don’t know. We would also publish news from various patriotic and traditional events that would take place all over Slovenia and explanations of the celebrations that would be celebrated on that day. We would also connect with various local associations that in any way contribute to the preservation of Slovenian tradition from all over Slovenia and share their publications or notices.
